ShortsOD is the destination site entirely devoted to international short films. At ShortsOD we love everything related to short films and our aim is to highlight international filmmaking talent to the widest possible audience.
Short films represent an economical way to discover unfamiliar directors; the time investment is minimal whilst quickly engaging you in a great escape - a good short film can deliver all the complexity, cinematography and entertainment as a full feature in a few minutes.
Unhindered by budget constraints traditionally associated with film making and with today's wide availability of technology from camera phones to consumer cameras, short film makers continue to find new and innovative ways of bringing their vision to the public.
Our previous foray online, Hurluberlu.com, received a great deal of positive feedback from our audience of film buffs and film professionals.
Our starter catalogue has a range of international short films you can watch for FREE and others you can RENT or BUY. All you need is a computer, a broadband connection and the latest Adobe Flash player.
We are also determined to make ShortsOD's mission to reach the hearing impaired community and for this, all films hosted by ShortsOD are required to have, at minimum, subtitles in English.
ShortsOD works as a Video On Demand platform that is totally free from ads and tracking software. The strict editorial policy ensures only high quality content while micro-payments generate revenue that is then redistributed in majority to the content owner.
Filmmakers earn per view and download while retaining full copyright of their work.
Becoming a ShortsOD member is free. It's also worth mentioning that the blog area is open to members who want to submit articles or footage of short films festivals. If you are a budding film festival, or you are attending one, please share your adventures with us!
